Dr. Marek Kozlowski
Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Design and Architecture, University Putra Malaysia
He graduated from the University of Queensland as an Urban Planner and completed his master’s in architecture at the Technical University in Krakow, Poland. He received his PhD in Urban Design at the University of Queensland. He has worked as an Urban Planner in Brisbane and Gold Coast City Councils and as an architect/urban designer for private consultancies in Queensland, Australia Poland, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia. In 2006 he joined Gold Coast City Council in Queensland Australia as a senior urban designer and managed and coordinated major projects including; the Central Southport Master Plan and the Gold Coast Rapid Transit Corridor Study.
He has done consultancy work in Malaysia for DPZ Asia where he was involved in various projects including the Urban Design Guidelines for Central Kuala Lumpur
Recently he has initiated a study on urban development in Borneo, and currently is the editor for a proposed book titled ‘Urban Borneo: Cities and Towns in Historic, Socio-Economic, Political and Environmental Context’. He has recently published a book ‘Kuala Lumpur: Community, Infrastructure and Urban Inclusivity’ with Routledge, Taylor and Francis.
